School Minibus Driver (School) Northampton   27.5 hours per week term time only •             Monday to Thursday:  6.30am – 8.45am/3.15pm – •             Friday:  6.30am – 8.45am/3.15pm – 5.30pm Availability to offer occasional driving for trips at weekends or during holidays is ideal but not essential Salary:  £9.65 per hour Contract term: Permanent   Northampton High School, part of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST), is an independent girls’ day school with a reputation for academic excellence, strong pastoral care and a wide breadth of extra-curricular activity. We are proud to be at the forefront of education for girls and a strong voice in promoting opportunities for young women   The role: Due to the extension of our school bus service we are looking for a professional minibus driver with full CPC or D1 category to join our team.    Suitable candidates must: - Hold a valid PVC licence with Cat D1 and acceptable driving record with no more than 6 points on driver’s licence - Undertake periodic Certificate of Professional Competence MIDAS training as required - Have the ability to react calmly in emergency situations and be considerate - Be at least 21 years of age - Have or be prepared to take a suitable First Aid qualification   Duties will include the following: - Transport students for school runs and trips - Carry out daily and weekly vehicle checks on the minibus, i.e. oil level, fuel, water etc. - To maintain good customer relations with parents and the school and contribute to a good atmosphere on the bus.   This is an important role within school as we pride ourselves on providing the highest level of customer service.  Therefore the successful candidate will be experienced, conscientious and professional in all aspects of this position.   Benefits:   As part of the GDST, the UK's leading network of independent girls' schools, we can offer a variety of benefits, such as: - Competitive salaries and pay progression - Access to GDST central training and development programmes - A discount of up to 50% on fees for children at GDST schools - Good transport links - Training grants for qualifications - Generous pension schemes - Free life assurance benefit - Lunches:  free lunches are provided to all staff during term time - Computer loans: interest-free loans are available to staff to enable them to buy a  - a computer for personal use at home or school - Cycle scheme:  the school is part of the scheme which enables staff to purchase - bicycles and equipment at a tax advantageous rate and pay for the equipment over 12 - months     TSL3 More
