Pharmacy Department, Trafford General Hospital
Senior Pharmacy Technician Band 5
37.5 hours (5 days) per week plus 1 in 5 Saturday mornings and Bank Holidays on a rota basis
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Pharmacy Technician to join our busy team at Trafford General Hospital. The hospital is in Urmston, close to The Trafford Centre with good transport links. The department is small and friendly with an innovative outlook.
Based in the Pharmacy Department at Trafford General Hospital, the successful applicant’s duties will focus on supporting the procurement process by the placing the day to day orders, supervising the staff working in the pharmacy stores, the evaluation and release of Unlicensed Medicines and regular accuracy checking slots in the dispensary. Other duties include the ad hoc supply of ward stock drugs, maintenance of pharmacy stocks and the use of the pharmacy computer system. Full training will be given in all aspects of the post and personal development will be encouraged.
The ideal candidate will have a BTEC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Science and a BTEC certificate in Accuracy Checking with experience of procurement. Good communication skills and the ability to adapt to the various duties of the post are also required. Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
