Salary: £36,900 – £56,500 depending on skills and experience + benefits + annual bonus
As a Settlements Team Leader, you’ll lead a team responsible for verification activities to ensure the accuracy of GB Energy Markets volume data, invoiced charges and receipts relating to an annual cashflow of many £billions are timely and accurate.
You will manage a diverse, capable and empowered team to meet the rapidly changing needs of the business while providing a high-quality, professional customer experience, adhering to all rules and regulations.
You will support the Energy Portfolio Management (EPM) Management Team to help develop and drive forward the business through proactive engagement, working closely with change management programmes you will positively represent Settlements and SSE at internal and external industry meetings.
You will be responsible for the development of high quality business tools which enhance our ability to model & reconcile market charges, industry codes and contracts. A key part of the role will the management of financial, regulatory and energy market risks through ensuring sufficient management oversight and that effective controls are in place.
Your Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will be passionate about the development of your team demonstrating professional behaviour to motivate and support your team through effective coaching, training & development plans. The ability to provide constructive and timely feedback to colleagues with empathy and emotional intelligence is essential.
We are looking for someone who is educated to a degree level in a relevant subject and/or have considerable experience operating within a similar type role with proven success in managing, coaching and supporting teams.
You will have excellent stakeholder & customer management skills with the ability to assess contractual documentation, industry and regulatory changes to determine the wider implications and provide explanation, narrative and recommendations. You shall be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications and be a natural problem solver with outstanding communication, negotiation and influencing skills to build rapport and reach a common ground suitable for all parties, both internal and external.
