Senior Care Assistants, this role will make a refreshing change for you. Our client is looking for a passionate individual who values working within a genuine caring environment, looking after older people, with a variety of needs.
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be working in a prestigious 70 bed residential home, supporting the residents with a range of daily activities and well being needs.
You will also be acting as a Team Leader on each shift, completely managing your own floor, ensuring the quality of care delivered to residents is to an exceptional standard.
Your additional responsibilities as a Senior Care Assistant will include:
Act as the ‘team leader’ for the shift and undertake responsibilities which will aid the running of the shift
Organising staff allocations and breaks
Arranging cover for absences
Liaising with home managers
Dealing with visits, inquiries from external agencies or visiting professionals (GP etc)
Ensure completion of special tasks such as medication administration and recording etc
In addition to Senior duties you will be expected to:
Be included as part of the care team on shift
To support residents in all activities of all daily living which are specified in their care plan and or are required in order to maximise wellbeing (physical, emotional, social etc.). These include personal care, food and drink, administering medication, accessing health care and recreational activities
To engage with residents and other stakeholders in a way that reflects their preferences, abilities as well as taking into account any impairment. This will be done in a way that will nurture their sense of self
To communicate clearly, precisely and appropriately with residents, relatives, colleagues and others in order to ensure that the care and assistance as well as any health needs of the residents are recorded and shared to enable seamless provision of care. This may be in writing or verbally and includes a wide range of formats including care plans
To work as part of a team and support others to maximise the delivery of care and support
To gain understanding of care elements for the safe delivery of care including attendance at training and meetings, familiarising yourself with policies and procedures and routines within the home
To contribute to keeping the environment, furniture and equipment in good repair and appealing appearance and to report any damage or fault so that these can be put right
You will be required to work three long days (8:00am to 8:00pm) shifts
40.25 hours per week
