Hours worked depend on where you are employed. While hours in a day care centre are normally from 8am to 6pm, hours can be longer and you may be required to work more flexibly when working for a private household.

Do I need any experience?
There are different academic qualifications for this area, such as a BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in childcare. Experience of previously working with children is also beneficial, with all employees needing to undergo a CRB – a police background check – before being given a job within this field.
